Milk for Cats
Most cat milk products have been specially formulated to provide kittens with the essential balance of oils, vitamins and minerals for the best start in life. They are also suitable as nutritional supplements for nursing cats (mother cats who produce milk for their kittens). Other adult cats can drink milk as a treat too.

Is milk actually healthy for cats to drink?
Not necessarily, it all depends on your cats’ age and the type of milk that they drink. But take note that most adult cats are lactose intolerant, so they can only drink milk specially produced for cats (and not regular cow’s milk).
Newborn cats have the necessary enzyme (lactase) to break down lactose. However, when they grow older, many lose that enzyme. As such, most adult cats are no longer able to digest lactose—drinking milk with lactose will lead to stomach problems.
That being said, small amounts of lactose-free cat milk (the kind you can find at CatSmart) can serve as a nutritious supplement for adult cats. Moreover, milk replacers/formulas provide complete nutrition for newborn and orphaned kittens.
What kind of milk can cats drink safely?
Kittens can safely consume milk replacers while adult cats can drink lactose-free cat milk. Again, we emphasise that you should not feed cow’s milk to cats.
What is the best milk to feed a kitten?
The following are our top kitten milk products:
-Francodex Milk Replacer Feed Kitten Formula 200g
It provides a balanced diet of proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals to support your kitten’s growth. The Milk Formula also provides fructo-oligosaccharides to support the intestinal flora. Moreover, it is starch-free to promote better digestion.
-Feline Natural Milk for Cats and Kittens
This is a go-to cat milk product that is safe for not just your kittens, but also your cats because it's lactose-free. With Omega 3 and no artificial preservatives or flavours, it retains all the natural goodness your cats deserve.
Can I give my cat milk every day?
Kittens: Yes, you should feed your kitten milk replacer a few times daily typically until it is 4-5 weeks old (although this timeline may differ for individual kittens). Once it has reached that developmental milestone, you can start weaning your kitten off the bottle. That is, begin your kitten’s transition to solid food.
Adult cats: No, we do not recommend feeding your adult cat milk every day. That would be too frequent.
Try offering your cat a tablespoon or two of milk. If you don't see unwanted symptoms within a day, it will probably do fine with milk as an occasional treat.
